History in the making - and we were there!

We went to Virginia this weekend to watch Kyle play lacrosse and while there all the UA parents (approx 65) and UA Lax players (approx 45) attended the Maryland vs Virginia lacrosse game. We got our monies worth! Maryland looked like they had the game well in hand being up 3 goals with about 6 minutes to go but Virginia got hot and tied it in regulation. On to sudden death overtime - only this time it turned out to be lingering death overtime! Maryland won the face off and ran down and scored in the first 10 seconds of the first overtime but the goal was called off as the referee incorrectly blew his whistle thinking that Maryland had a called a time out. Wrong! The first four minute overtime ended with no one scoring, the second ended with no one scoring, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth!! The goalies were unbelievable, the offenses were getting tired. Would this game ever end? Finally at one minute into the 7th overtime Virginia finally scored and ended the longest NCAA lacrosse game of all time!
